First-Generation Career Support
Are you a first-generation undergraduate student looking to grow in your career journey? NYU defines first-generation students following the definition of the Common App, which are students for whom neither parent has received a bachelor’s degree or higher. The NYU Wasserman Center is excited to offer two cohort-based programs which are designed for first-generation students at every stage!
● First-Generation Cohort: Career Foundations
Designed for first and second-year undergraduate students, this four-session cohort helps students build a strong foundation for their career journey through self-discovery, skill building, and preparation for early career opportunities.

● First-Generation Cohort: Professional Development
Designed for third and fourth-year undergraduate students, this four-session cohort supports students in exploring career paths, developing effective job search strategies, and strengthening their networking skills. Students are matched with a professional mentor upon successful completion of the program.
