On-Campus Employment
NYU has an array of on-campus employment available, such as office assistants, IT techs, tutors, and more. There are two types of on-campus employment positions: Federal Work-Study and Non-Federal Work Study.
Federal Work-Study (FWS)
A type of financial aid that allows students to work on-campus, or with approved off-campus employers.
75% of earnings are paid with federal funds; the remaining 25% are paid by NYU.
Eligibility: Domestic students (U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents)
FWS awards are listed in your financial aid package (access via Albert or contact the Office of Financial Aid).
If FWS Funds Run Out: Students may request additional funds with Financial Aid. Some on-campus employers may opt to keep students as non-FWS employees once their award ends.
Non-Federal Work Study (NON-FWS)
Jobs that are available on-campus and offer the same responsibilities, benefits and earnings as FWS positions. Non-Federal Work-Study earnings are completely funded by NYU.
Eligibility: All NYU students are eligible to work in non-FWS jobs.
International Students do not qualify for FWS, but can apply to non-FWS on-campus jobs.
