Career Outcomes from Life Beyond the Square

Welcome to the Wasserman Center’s interactive career outcomes dashboard! We conduct our annual Life Beyond the Square survey to understand students’ first destinations after earning their NYU degree(s). The data we collect informs our services, programs, and employer engagement strategies to help current and future Violets develop and attain their career goals. The dashboard below is a snapshot of where graduates have landed up to six months after their graduation. This guide contains helpful information for understanding the data and navigating the dashboard.

This page is just the start. Learn more about where graduates work and continue their education after earning their NYU degree through our interactive portal! See The Stern Undergraduate Outcomes Report for Stern undergraduates’ outcomes. Please email wasserman.survey@nyu.edu with any questions.

FAQs

LBTS is open to all graduating students in programs served by the Wasserman Center. That means associate’s students, bachelor’s students, and graduate students from CAS, GSAS, Gallatin, Global Liberal Studies, Global Public Health, SPS, Silver, Steinhardt, Rory Meyers, Tisch, and Tandon, and bachelor’s students in Stern.

Your feedback will help shape future NYU initiatives, strategies, and employer outreach efforts, creating better opportunities for future Violets. It will also strengthen alumni connections, enhance career support tailored to your needs, and contribute to a more robust NYU network.

The survey is open between April and December. NYU has a few different graduation periods each year. The graduation period for a given year starts in June and runs through the following May. For example, the Class of 2026 includes students who graduated between June 2025 and May 2026!

You can edit or submit a new response if your plans change. For instance, if you’re still seeking employment or continuing education now and have an update over the summer, you can submit that new outcome whenever you have the chance using this link.

The survey includes still looking as an option, whether you’re seeking employment or continuing education. We know a lot of graduates will still be figuring it all out in the weeks and months after graduation, and we encourage you to stop by the Wasserman Center, or browse Handshake, for help navigating your next steps. Alumni have full access to the Wasserman Center’s many resources, including career coaching, events, digital resources, etc. Don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything we can do to help!

Responses to the survey will never be shared outside of NYU, and survey findings are only reported in aggregate. Findings are used to inform our employer engagement strategies and the programs, services, and resources offered by the Wasserman Center to students and alumni each year.
