Connecting with Alumni While Away

Studying away offers a unique opportunity to connect with NYU’s extensive global alumni network, which spans industries and continents. With alumni embedded in cities around the world, students can build meaningful professional and personal connections while immersing themselves in a new location. Taking advantage of this network allows students to gain local insights, mentorship, and career guidance that extend far beyond the classroom. By engaging with alumni at our global sites, studying away becomes not only an academic experience but also a powerful step in building a global community.

Skill Building While Studying Away

Studying away also provides valuable opportunities to build career-ready skills alongside your academic experience. Through platforms like Forage and LinkedIn Learning, students can develop in-demand technical and professional skills at their own pace while gaining exposure to real-world projects and industry insights. Volunteering with your study away site further enhances this growth by allowing you to apply skills in a local context, contribute to the community, and strengthen competencies such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Opportunities to volunteer and engage with the local community will be shared upon your arrival at each global site.
