The Graduate Student Career Development Team at the Wasserman Center provides specialized career coaching, events, and resources to meet the particular needs of current and recent NYU master’s, doctoral, and advanced certificate students, as well as current postdocs. Whether looking to explore possibilities, prepare for specific roles, or consider how to advance in their career, the Graduate Team is available to partner with grads in the process.

  • Join the Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB). GSAB members serve as liaisons between graduate students and the Wasserman Grad Team, collaborate on projects with students from across NYU, and make a difference for the graduate student community.  
  • Partner with the Grad Team: The Grad Team is here to partner with clubs and organizations to plan and deliver customized career workshops and events. To request a workshop or event, please complete our Request Form.

Whether a master’s, doctoral, or advanced certificate student, or you’re a postdoc, the Wasserman Graduate Team is here to support you. Our coaches understand the unique needs of graduate students and are ready to help you move forward in your career. Book a 30-minute virtual or in-person appointment through Handshake. New appointments are added each month, so you can plan ahead and find a time that works for you.

  • From the top Menu, under Career Center, select Appointments
  • Click Schedule a New Appointment
  • Select Graduate Students
  • Choose the time and medium that works best for your career needs

We offer a variety of career programs and events tailored for graduate students and postdocs, available both in person and online. To explore upcoming opportunities, log in to Handshake and filter by the “Graduate Student” label to find programming designed just for you.

  • Graduate-level workshops on resumes, cover letters, CVs, interviewing, job and internship searches, networking, and salary negotiation
