Global Career Hub
The Global Career Hub is for students who want to expand their career opportunities beyond their home country and succeed in a global workforce. The hub is dedicated to international students looking to work in the US and all students looking to work globally bringing together resources and services to help students better understand and navigate the job market in their targeted countries, develop the skills and experience employers are seeking, and connect with alumni and employers.
Global Career Hub Coaching
One-on-one 30-minute Global Career Hub career coaching appointments take place at both OGS Manhattan/StudentLink and OGS Brooklyn throughout the academic year. These appointments are offered by coaching staff with knowledge of the international student experience and the global workforce.
Schedule a coaching appointment on Handshake. Just select ‘Global Career Hub’ as the appointment type.

U.S. Job Search
- Job Search Guide for International Students – Get cultural insights and practical strategies to pursue internships, campus jobs, and full-time roles in the U.S. Our Job Search Guide for International Students provides expert tips and support for everything from finding opportunities and crafting strong applications to navigating job offers, work authorization, and building of networks.
- Navigating Conversations w/Employers About Work Authorization – Conversations with prospective employers about work authorization can be tricky for international students looking for work experience in the United States. - Finding U.S. Job & Internship Opportunities – Landing a role in the U.S. that supports CPT, OPT, or visa sponsorship takes a multi-strategy approach from attending career fairs and employer events to leveraging job boards, NYU resources, and alumni connections. - Handshake allows you to create a saved job search using filters for CPT/OPT/Sponsorship. Use this saved job search to get started and add additional filters.
- Interstride has a dedicated job board specifically for international students with filters to show only employers open to CPT, OPT, or visa sponsorship.
- GoinGlobal has a search engine that identifies US employers who have historically sponsored H-1B visas.
Global Job Search
NYU alumni are making an impact around the world — and so can you.
If you’re exploring opportunities outside your home country, start by identifying your target countries and industries. Research each country’s work visa or permit requirements, and get familiar with local job search norms, including:
- Resume/CV formatting
- Interview expectations
- Salary negotiation practices
- Professional networking culture
Use tools like Interstride and GoinGlobal for country-specific resources and global job boards. You can also create a saved job search in Handshake by filtering for global locations.

- Presentation Competition: Build Your Communication Skills & Confidence: Want to become a stronger, more impactful public speaker while strengthening your interview and networking skills? Join our Presentation Competition. Participants deliver short, impactful presentations and gain valuable experience in communication, clarity, and confidence — all while competing for prizes.Â
- Employer Challenges: The NYU Employer Industry Challenges program connects students with real-world challenges sourced directly from leading organizations across industries. Through this experiential learning opportunity, students work in collaborative teams, engage with industry professionals, and develop innovative solutions to pressing organizational or sector-wide issues.
